Dhanteras 2025: The Festival of Prosperity and New Beginnings

As autumn’s chill sets in and diyas glow warmly, Dhanteras ushers in the festive spirit of Diwali, a celebration of light, prosperity, and renewal.

🌟 Meaning & Significance

Falling on the thirteenth day of Krishna Paksha in Kartik month, Dhanteras  from ‘Dhan’ (wealth) and ‘Teras’ (thirteenth) reminds us that true wealth lies not only in gold and silver, but in health, happiness, and harmony. It’s also known as Dhanvantari Trayodashi, honoring Lord Dhanvantari, who brought Ayurveda to humanity, and Goddess Lakshmi, who emerged from the ocean of milk symbolizing abundance.

🪔 Traditions & Beliefs

Homes are cleaned and lit with diyas and rangolis to welcome prosperity. Buying gold, silver, or utensils symbolizes new beginnings  even the smallest purchase made with faith brings blessings. As lamps flicker at dusk, they dispel darkness and invite divine light into our lives.

May this Dhanteras bring endless prosperity, radiant health, and spiritual abundance to you and your loved ones. Join the Shivaratna family in celebrating the light of positivity and the joy of new beginnings
